Xploration Space
From Humble Beginnings
Mission Blog, Star date: April 04, 2021
At Xploration Space we subscribe to the philosophy that as long as we’re willing to work hard, commit to our ideas and take the risks necessary to see those ideas become reality, we will succeed. Our first milestone was completed during the first week of the month of April. We successfully designed, manufactured, and set up our new launch tower. For us, this was a necessary component for establishing a solid foothold to a successful high-power amateur rocketry program. We would like to thank everyone responsible for this first endeavor. Thank you.

During the second week of April 2021 Xploration Space was able to acquire new launch controls from Altus Metrum.
TeleLaunch — Multi-channel Wireless Launch Controller System
TeleLaunch is a secure radio-controlled rocket launch system capable of operating up to 792 pads from a single controler. A typical TeleLaunch system consists of one TeleLCO unit and one or more TeleFire units.
TeleLaunch uses a two-way digital radio communications system for positive indication of all operations. The communications link is secured with AES CBC-MAC to prevent accidental or intentional operation from unauthorized transmitters.
TeleLaunch operates in the 70cm amateur band at low power using Altus Metrum’s proven modulation and coding schem to avoid interference with any rocketry electronics or other communication devices.
All boards in the TeleLaunch system are easily configured using USB for parameters like operating frequency, callsign, cryptographic key, and in the case of pyro units the designated bank number.

Launch Facility/Ground Station/Tracking
Launch facilities contain the infrastructure needed to launch a rocket. Launch facilities are often referred to as a spaceport where the area provides for one or more launch pads. Xploration Space utilizes Spaceport Goldendale for its launches.
Launch facilities include many components such as the launch platform and launch systems that will support the vehicle with electrical, telemetry and communications. These services are connected via umbilical’s, or wireless communication systems that are accessible to launch and mission control centers, ground stations, and remote devices for controlling the launch vehicle.
Xploration Space is currently developing critical systems for tracking and monitoring telemetry/data. We realize how vitally important these systems are to a successful rocket/space program. Follow along with us as we develop and refine these systems.
